The Midwest Association of Hispanic Accountants began in the Fall of 1992 at DePaul University with the objective of providing students with the resources to grow professionally during their academic career. The organization grew to two other campuses-University of Illinois-Chicago and Northern Illinois University-by 1996. The organization was advised by Dr. Robert Peters from 1992-2003. In 2003, Dr. Elizabeth Murphy took over as faculty advisor, a position she still holds today. In Fall 2017, MAHA will celebrate its 25th Year Anniversary as an organization on DePaul's campus. MAHA continues to work to live up to its mission statement and help students grow academically, professionally, and in the community as leaders.
